rewriting/restructuring of Prayer of Dew

Dew, precious dew, unto Thy land forlorn
Dew, precious dew, the good year’s crown, we wait
Dew, precious dew, let fall upon the land
Dew, precious dew, to make the mountains sweet
Dew, precious dew, our granaries to fill
Dew, precious dew, that we our harvests reap

Our God and God of our fathers, Beloved God

Give Thy chosen city safe foundation in dew
Thy chosen city, now so desolate, into a gleaming crown may be transmuted by dew
The faithful of Thy vineyard be rewarded with dew
So we may sing Thy praises, softly falling as dew
And make us as a richly-watered garden with dew
We who look to Thee to give the earth her greenness with dew

Pour out blessings
To strengthen us with ample wine and corn
That earth in pride and glory may be fruited
From heaven’s treasury be this accorded
The savor of Thy excellent recalling
And guard our fatted flocks and herds from leanness
Uplift us at Thy will

Behold our people follows Thee like sheep
And looks to Thee to give the earth her greenness
With dew

Our God and God of our fathers, Beloved God
Uplift us at Thy will
With dew
