Sweet Painted Lady

On a frozen day in August or July she lounges about the fountains
bring your brushes and paint her if you are afforded the trade
She is small and girlish when she laughs and drinks warm water and wine
her smooth surface is the cost of art so don’t break her innocence
with a crude masterpiece and undo her presence like a thief
Paint her with gentle shades of breezes and frost taking care not to let her
childlike beauty frame the hot afternoon when she wraps her legs around you
Paint tender kisses down her back Paint the calm caress as her skin touches
the colors of breaths and obsession Paint the night sky across her lips and
never forget that she is painting you
